Luxembourg, a small country located in the heart of Europe, offers visitors a unique mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. From its picturesque old town to its stunning countryside, there’s a lot you can see and do. During our recent trip to Luxembourg, we were impressed by the hospitality and warmth of the locals and the many accommodation options.

After careful consideration, we decided to stay at the Mercure Luxembourg Off Kirchberg. The hotel is part of the Accor Group program, which is dedicated to sustainable development and reducing the hotel industry’s impact on the environment. The hotel has implemented various measures to reduce its carbon footprint, including the use of energy-efficient lighting, water-saving devices, and eco-friendly cleaning products. This is an important consideration for environmentally conscious travellers who want to support businesses that prioritize sustainability. In the article below, we will take a closer look at the hotel and share our experience with you.

Location

The Mercure Luxembourg Off Kirchberg Hotel was our ultimate choice for accommodation during our trip to Luxembourg. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, as it was situated in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, but still very close to all the important attractions, (something that we personally wanted for our baby Jason). The Kirchberg district is known for its modern architecture, and the hotel is surrounded by many European Union institutions and business centers. The Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Mudam Museum are just a 15-minute walk away, while the historic city center and the famous Casemates du Bock, a network of tunnels and fortifications that dates back to the 17th century, can be reached within a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride. There is a bus station right outside the hotel’s entrance. The Luxembourg Central train station is only 6 km away, which made our transportation very easy. The best thing to mention here is that all the means of transport are free for everyone in Luxembourg. We used a combination of tram and bus (around 22 minutes) to arrive at Mercure.

The hotel’s staff effortlessly blended professionalism with warmth, ensuring that our family felt welcome and cared for.
