Egypt e-Visa
Since December 2017, travelers from the following countries have been able to apply for an Egypt e-Visa online; no embassy visit is required. This is the fastest and most convenient option if you are eligible.
All members of the European Union | Αlbania | Αustralia | Canada |
Ιceland | Japan | North Korea | South Korea |
Moldavia | Monaco | Montenegro | Northern Macedonia |
Russia | Serbia | Switzerland | Ukraine |
The United Kingdom | The United States of America | Vatican City |
How to apply
The process is simple and takes about 10 minutes. You do not need a travel agency; apply yourself directly through the official portal or via iVisa.com, which guides you through every step and checks your application before submission.
Here’s how to apply step by step:
- Receive your approved e-Visa by email within 5–6 working days
- Visit iVisa.com and select Egypt e-Visa
- Fill in your personal details and passport information
- Upload your passport photo and passport scan
- Choose a single-entry ($25) or multiple-entry visa ($60)
- Pay online by credit or debit card

How much will it cost?
The Egypt e-visa fee is paid directly to the government: $25 for a single entry and $60 for a multiple-entry visa. If you apply through iVisa.com, a service fee is added, so the total cost is slightly higher. Here’s when that extra fee is worth it:
- Your application gets reviewed for errors before submission — 98% approval rate
- You get live support via chat and WhatsApp vs email-only on the official portal
- During peak season (October–April), when the official portal slows down
- You want faster processing options not available on the official portal
- You’ve had technical issues with government portals before; the Egyptian portal can freeze during payment
Applying 3–4 weeks in advance through the official portal works perfectly and saves you the service fee. iVisa is the better option if you want extra support and reliability.

The duration of the visa
Processing the information will take 5-6 working days, after which everything will be evaluated and validated as valid, and there may be a few corrections. It is advisable to obtain the visa at least one week before travelling. The single-entry visa is valid for 30 days, as with the visa upon arrival, whereas the multiple-entry visa is valid for 60 days (meaning you can stay for 30 days per visit).
Personal fact: Fortunate in my misfortune, I had applied for a visa 2 months before travelling, and I received an email stating that my passport information was illegible, so I had to resend everything. The entire process took more than 2 weeks, so please address official matters like this early.
