Steps for eVisa application
1. Visit the official website
Start by visiting the official Tanzania eVisa portal at visa.immigration.go.tz. Once there, click on “New Application” to begin.
2. Enter personal information
You will need to provide:
- Your email address
- Passport number
- Country of passport issuance
Choose a security question and complete the Captcha, then click Start New Application. You will receive an Application ID, be sure to save this, as you may need it to track or complete your application later.
3. Provide detailed personal information
Enter additional details such as your:
- Date of birth
- Country and city of residence
- Nationality (at birth and current nationality)
- At residence status enter “citizen”
Once all information is correct, click Save and Continue.
4. Fill in the address and employment details
Provide your physical and permanent address. If they are the same, complete the same. You will also need to input your employment status and the name of your employer (if applicable). Once completed, proceed by clicking Save and Continue.
5. Submit passport information
Select Ordinary Passport as the passport type and choose your country of issuance (e.g., Greece). After this, click Save and Continue.
6. Visa and travel information
Select the appropriate visa type, such as Ordinary (for tourism), and specify your purpose of visit (e.g., tourism). You will also need to fill in:
- Travel plans: Indicate your port of entry and exit, the date of arrival, and the duration of your stay.

7. Upload supporting documents

8. Review and confirm

10. Receive your eVisa
Once the visa is approved, you will receive it via email (ours were ready after 4 working days). Be sure to check your spam folder as well. You should have both a printed and digital copy of your eVisa, as well as proof of travel insurance if visiting Zanzibar.
